| Program
Scholarship Elimination |
|
|
| Although the main benefits to Dow
COP students are the experiences provided by the program and the
Director's mentorship, in the past students were eligible for Dow COP
scholarships of up to $2,000 per year. Currently, Dow COP has
enough funds to assure the program can run for at least 18 years without
raising additional funds...however, if we continue to offer college
scholarships, our funds would be depleted in 7-10 years. Students
accepted in the program through the Class of 2004 will remain eligible
for Dow COP scholarships, but younger students will not. Of
course, students are strongly encouraged and assisted in applying for
scholarships from other sources.
In order to reinstate our college scholarships, Dow COP has opened a
scholarship fund at the Midland
Area Community Foundation. Donations to the Dow COP fund are
greatly appreciated and will be used to fund these scholarships. |
